About Me

As a fairly new mother of twins, my entire perspective of taking care of myself as well as my family has changed.  As any woman who cares about her appearance, I concerned myself with crash diets and excessive working out before my pregnancy.  Sensible meals to me were restrictive ones; a typical day would consist of two eggs for breakfast, a salad for lunch, and some sort of protein and vegetables for dinner.  My 1200-count calorie diet in addition to running three miles a day led to binge weekends only to start the vicious cycle again on Monday morning. I enjoyed the “work hard play hard” mentality and although this system worked very well for me, I always felt like I was chasing a goal I could not meet.
Once my husband and I found out we were pregnant with twins, my eating habits were forced to be changed. Working out was not an option according to my doctor and I was placed on bed rest. Also since I was eating for two more people I had to increase my calorie count an extra 1000 per day. The same thrill of restricting my calorie count also worked on the flip side and I was having fun experimenting with new foods and meeting new nutrition goals.
Two beautiful boy/girl twins later I have been inspired to keep the tools I learned during my pregnancy. Once I got the go ahead from my doctor, I hit my treadmill but for only four months. My husband introduced me to the “Lose It” application from Apple and I was able to lose the rest of my weight plus seven pounds. No longer do I crash diet or run like a mad woman. I still experiment with healthy foods and exercise but do so in small portions and moderately.
I am proof that you can have your cake and eat it too. With conscious choices and a want-to attitude I am absolutely positive that you can find your inspiration to be the best you can be!
